Up close and personal with a sea urchin

This sea urchin died of natural causes. You can see the hole through which a predator entered the exoskeleton and ate the animal inside. I am quite partial to sea urchins: they’re really interesting when they’re alive, they’re really, really good when they’re food and beautiful when they’re dead. What’s not to love?
