Kingston’s genet
When I was 17, I got a book for my birthday.
It was Island Africa by John Kingdon and the thing I liked best were the illustrations. John Kingdon was an amazing illustrator and his books on African mammals are still the most appreciated.
I put a few elements of different paintings of his into a genet composition.
And then last year, I drew a second version, with softer watercolours and a more fluid background.
