Sausage Rolls

So. Not much to say here. I’m a bit embarrassed to post it, but these sausage rolls are so so good, especially as an appetiser or  side to a soup or cream that I couldn’t not share!

Ingredients:

  • already cooked sausages. Or hotdogs, whatever you prefer.
  • puff pastry. Made it yourself? Please share your recipe in the comments!
  • mustard. I love mustard.
  • 1 yolk, beaten.
  • sea salt and pepper (to sprinkle at the end!)

Chop the sausages up.

Cut the puff pastry in rectangles that are slightly larger than the chunks of sausage you chopped. Spread the mustard on the puff pastry rectangles (not too much, that stuff is strong!)

Place the sausage in the middle of the puff pastry rectangle and then roll the pastry around it

Brush the egg yolk wash on the outside of the puff pastry roll and sprinkle some sea salt and pepper on top

Place in a pre-heated oven. 180C, for about 15 mins or until the puff pastry is golden and completely cooked.

Done! Now enjoy, maybe with a thick, flavourful zucchini cream. Come back tomorrow at the same time for the recipe!
