Cafe Baba
This is a cafe in a corner of Tangiers, easily overlooked if it weren’t in every guide and website. We were lucky, because when we went to Tangiers it was low tourist season and we were the only ones in there.
Dark, smoky and dusty. I can see why such stars as Mick Jagger and Bob Marley loved it here!
After ordering our usual shay bin nana (mint tea), we sat next to a group of men that were discussing energetically, phones and wads of money dumped on the table in front of them. We had a good view of the place from our corner, and could people watch (and steal some photos) without bothering anyone.
A very recommended stop if you’re in Tangiers. Oh, don’t forget to stroll by the bay windows and look at the city outside.
