Feeding Madrid’s insects

Xylocopa spA Xylocopa sp. on our lavender. We have a very narrow windowsill but still managed to plant a handful of aromatic plants…and we are not the only ones that are enjoying them!

  1. I have a lavender patch in my garden which attracts a lot of bumblebees. I love listening to their gentle hum in the early afternoon but I never get too close. At least not close enough to take a photo of them!

    • I see one or two Xylocopo bees nearly every evening, when the temperatures start decreasing..I think it might be worth planting some more flowering plants that attract insects: if you can’t live in nature then bring nature to you!
