Colour. Not always necessary.

Look at these little flowers, for example. What  are they? I have no idea. But they were in a garden, hiding in the shade of their own leaves, and they were an array of dull, awkward colours. As if they had dipped their heads in the nearly finished palette of flower colours and come out a blend of leftovers.

Something about this odd colour is strangely appealing.
