Looking for the Houses

Finally I had two hours to myself. And it was my last day in Cuenca – I had to visit the city!

So I got my phone and google maps and started walking, uphill (of course) towards the Hanging Houses.

I got lost. Of course. And the loster I got, the hotter it became and the steeper the road. Which was cobbled, of course. Of course.

In the end, I found them. But while I was getting there, I saw some corners of the city that I’m sure not many tourists see. Here they are.

Nearly there? The view of the other side of the ravine

Aha! I found them! But no, google says they’re still quite a way away and not in that direction. Oh well, I’ll take a photo anyway – they’re quite cool!

UUuhhh this looks interesting! Pity it was closed….imagine a bar, with a garden, and this name. How decadent could that be?

I did get there. Here you can find more photos of the lovely little city and its sights 🙂
