Last month I went to my hometown, Ravenna. Spring had just rounded the corner – I had unknowingly landed in a town full of flowers and beauty and colour.
I took quite a few photos, but these are the ones I took with my macro lens and whose flowers aren’t completely in focus, their colours smudged, the contours blending into each other like pastel drawings.
There is the strong possibility that these are my absolute favourite of the whole series.
Color is the fruit of life.
Guillaume Apollinaire
Drawing and colour are not distinct, everything in nature is coloured.
Paul Cezanne
Every form is a base for colour, every colour is the attribute of a form.
Victor Vasarely
There are no lines in nature, only areas of colour, one against another.
Edouard Manet
Color is all. When color is right, form is right. Color is everything, color is vibration like music; and everything is vibration.
Marc Chagall
