I think I had this pie once at our cousin’s house in Trieste. If it wasn’t this exact combo, it was something very similar. Pies are the easiest thing to do, especially if you like them with puff pastry and you buy the puff pastry (as opposed to making it. I looked it up and it’s really really hard). Once you’ve bought the puff pastry, all you have to do is dump the ingredients on top (well, a bit of love will help, especially with the presentation of your lovely dessert), chuck it in the oven (love. remember the love) and it’s done!
And it’s so simple that one photo – well, in this post, two photos are more than enough.
Puff pastry. No, I don’t make it. Do you? Do you have an easy recipe? If so I’d love to hear from you – feel free to post you blog details below!
Strawberry jam. No, I don’t make it. I’ve seen people making it but have never tried myself.
Pears. Yup, I sliced them and layered the beautifully on the pie, as you can see in the photo above!
For apple pies I usually add some complements, like raisins or nuts of some kind, cinnamon and sugar. This pie doesn’t need anything extra, because the jam gives the sugar and the pears need to stand out so shouldn’t be “hidden” under any spices. I think this might be the easiest “recipe” yet.
