Many, many years ago I was given a wonderful, gorgeous and incredibly interesting book: Island Africa. The author, Jonathan Kingdon, was an expert on African fauna and an accomplished illustrator. From one of his paintings, represented in the book, I took the genet that you can see in the following paintings that I made. I then looked at other drawings and paintings of his and dipped into my imagination for the background.
The first painting was made about ten years ago with looking at the original. The second one was made a few months ago with just this photo to go with. Which one do you prefer?
I like the second one more!
